Company profile

The company profile holds your company facts, your product and data answers and your security practices. Every document reads from it.

The company profile is where you record the facts your documents need. It is organised in four sections. Required fields depend on the document: each checklist tells you which ones are missing and opens the exact field.

#Company

FieldWhy it matters
Legal company nameIdentifies who is responsible for your documents.
CountryWhere the company is established.
WebsiteUsed for your privacy center and your cookie banner.
Privacy contactAn email address where people can reach you about their data.
Postal addressPart of the controller's identity in the policy.

#Product

FieldWhy it matters
About your companyA short introduction shown in your privacy center.
What your company doesUsed to suggest relevant processing activities.
Processing for clientsWhether you handle personal data on behalf of clients. Answering yes unlocks the data processing agreement.

#Data

FieldWhy it matters
Data storage regionWhere your own systems store personal data.
RetentionHow long you keep data, in plain words.

#Practices

Security practices appear in your policy and privacy center only when you answer them: multi-factor authentication on admin access, backups, encryption and how you delete data. Leaving a practice blank means it is not stated, never that it is assumed.

#FAQ

#Do I have to fill everything before I can use Privacyboard?

No. Fields are requested when a document needs them.

#Are my security practice answers public?

Only if you publish them: practices appear in your privacy center when you have answered them, and you choose what the center shows.

#Where is my privacy contact used?

In your privacy policy and your privacy center, so people know where to send questions.

Privacyboard is a guidance tool, not legal advice. This page describes what the product does today. Found something unclear or out of date? Write to antoine@unmake.io.
