Cookie policy
The cookie policy is written from your live cookie banner: the services you declare, their categories and purposes, so your policy and your banner never disagree.
The cookie policy explains which cookies and similar technologies your website uses and why. In Privacyboard it is written from your published cookie banner, so it exists once a banner is live.
#What it contains
- The list of services you declared, grouped by category: necessary, preferences, statistics and marketing.
- For each service: its name, its purpose, the cookies it sets and how long they last.
- How visitors can change their choice and how long a choice is kept.
- A link to your privacy policy.
#How it stays in step
The policy is generated from the banner version that is live. When you publish a new banner version, the policy is flagged so you can review and validate the update. The cookie section of your privacy policy is written from the same source.
#Where visitors read it
The banner links to your cookie policy. When you publish a privacy center, the validated policy can be shown there as well.
#FAQ
#Why do I not see a cookie policy?
It appears once your cookie banner is published. Set up the banner first.
#Does the policy list cookies automatically?
It lists the services you declare. The site check helps you find services your site loads, and well-known cookies are described for you.
