A privacy request, often called a data subject request, is a person using one of their GDPR rights. Privacyboard gives your visitors a request form, adds each request to your workspace with its legal deadline and prepares the replies.

#The rights covered

RightWhat the person asks
AccessWhat data you hold about them and how you use it.
RectificationTo correct inaccurate data.
ErasureTo delete their data.
PortabilityTo receive their data in a portable format.
ObjectionTo stop a use of their data.
RestrictionTo limit how their data is used.
Automated decisionTo have a person review a decision made only by automated processing.

These correspond to Articles 15 to 22 of the GDPR.

#How a request travels

  1. A visitor sends the form on your privacy center and receives an automatic receipt with a reference number.
  2. The request appears in your workspace with its type, the date received and the reply-by date.
  3. You check the request against a short guide for that right, then reply and close it. See Replies and templates.

You can also log a request by hand, for example one received by email or letter, so everything is in one place.

#Alerts

Requests past the deadline or due within seven days are flagged at the top of your overview and in the menu.

#A record you can show

Each request keeps its dates, status and the replies you sent, so you can show how it was handled. The log exports to PDF or Excel.

#FAQ

#Can people send requests without an account?

Yes. The form in your published privacy center is open to anyone.

#Is request tracking free?

Yes. Tracking requests is part of the free workspace. Receiving them from the public form needs your privacy center to be published, which is part of Pro.

#Do I get notified of a new request?

New requests are added to your workspace and flagged in the menu and overview. Email notifications use your email settings.
