Set up the cookie banner
Step-by-step guided setup for the cookie banner: switch it on, list your services, style the banner, install it and run the final check.
A guided setup walks you through the cookie banner in order. You can leave and come back: settings are saved as you go.
#1. Switch it on and add your website
Open Cookies in your workspace and switch the banner on. Enter the domain of your website, for example yourcompany.com. Declare every domain where the banner will run. The choice is shared by the domain and its subdomains, so www.yourcompany.com and yourcompany.com count as one, and choices are recorded in your log only when they come from a declared domain.
#2. List your services
Scan your website to list the services it loads. The scan is described in Site check. Add any service the scan cannot see, and give each one a category. See Services and categories.
#3. Set up the banner
Choose position, theme, colours and texts, or keep the standard texts, translated automatically. Preview before it goes live. See Banner appearance.
#4. Publish
Publish banner makes it available to your website. Publishing the banner needs Pro. Each publication creates a numbered version that you can review later. See Versions.
#5. Install it
Add one line to your pages, with guides for common builders. See Install the banner.
#6. Check
Run the site check to see which other websites your pages contacted and whether it happened before the visitor chose. See Site check.
#Making changes later
Edit your settings at any time. Changes stay in a draft until you Publish changes. If you changed your services, you can publish and ask visitors again so everyone gives a new choice.
