This page takes you from a new account to a validated privacy policy. Plan about ten minutes. You can stop at any point: your progress is saved.

#1. Create your account and workspace

Sign up with your email and a password. A workspace is created for your company. A workspace stands for one company or website. You can create more later.

#2. Start from your website

The first screen asks for your company website. Privacyboard reads your public pages to suggest your company name, description, a privacy contact if one is published, and some of the tools you use. You check everything it found. If you prefer, continue manually: only a company name is required.

Details are in Website import.

#3. Confirm the essentials

The second screen shows what was found: company name and description, website, country of establishment, privacy contact and your tools. Remove what is wrong and add what is missing. Country and legal facts are never guessed.

#4. Follow the next step

From here, the overview always shows one next step. The path is:

  1. Add your activities. Pick how you use personal data, for example customer accounts, billing or newsletters. Every field is prefilled, you only check it. See Processing register.
  2. Review your vendors. Confirm the role, purpose, data and region of each tool. See Vendors.
  3. Complete your policy. A checklist lists what is still missing for the privacy policy, each item linked to the exact field.
  4. Validate it. Read the policy, correct it if needed and validate it. See Validate and export.
  5. Publish your privacy center. Optional and part of Pro. You can preview it for free. See Publish your center.
  6. Add a cookie banner. Optional and part of Pro. You can skip it and come back later. See Cookie banner overview.
