Cookie banner
Banner appearance and texts
Position, theme, colours, languages, texts and how long a choice is kept. Learn how to customise the cookie banner and let visitors reopen their choice.
#Position and theme
| Setting | Options |
|---|---|
| Position | Bottom right, bottom left, bottom (full width) or center. |
| Theme | Light or dark. |
| Accent colour | Your brand colour for buttons. If it would melt into the banner background, a readable colour is used instead. |
#Languages
The banner is available in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. By default the language follows the visitor's browser, and falls back to English. You can fix a language in the settings.
#Texts
The standard title and body are translated for you. To use your own wording, write a title and a body, but they then apply to every language. The banner also shows links to your privacy policy and your cookie policy.
#Buttons
Accept all and Reject all have the same weight, as regulators expect. A Customise link opens the choice per category, with a Save my choices button.
#How long a choice is kept
Ask again after sets the number of months, from 1 to 13, before visitors are asked again. Browsers cap cookie lifetimes, so the real duration can be shorter.
#Reopen the choice
Visitors must be able to change their mind as easily as they decided. Two ways:
- A footer link. Add
Cookie settingsto your footer or privacy page. - A floating button. Switch on Cookie settings button to show a small button on every page once the visitor has answered. It is off by default, because most sites prefer a link in the footer and a clean page.
Keep at least one of the two.
#Preview
The preview in your workspace shows the banner with your settings and texts before you publish.
#FAQ
#Can I use my own logo or CSS?
The banner is isolated from your page styles so it cannot be broken by them. You control position, theme, colour and texts.
#Does closing the banner count as consent?
No. Closing without choosing is not counted as consent, and non-essential tools stay blocked.
