Consent analytics

Read how visitors answer your cookie banner, with acceptance and rejection rates over time, by category, by region and by banner version.

The Analytics tab of the Cookies page turns your consent log into figures. Choose a period: 7 days, 30 days, 90 days or 12 months.

#Key figures

  • Choices recorded: how many times visitors answered the banner, and how many different visitors that represents. A visitor who changes their mind counts twice.
  • Accepted all, Rejected all, Customised: the share of each answer among visitors who were asked for consent.

When the period before has at least 20 choices, each figure shows how it changed: in percent for the number of choices, in percentage points for the rates.

#Choices over time

A bar per day (per week over 90 days, per month over 12 months), split by answer. Hover a bar to see the detail. In regions where you show an opt-out notice, those answers appear as a separate colour.

#What visitors allow

For each category (Preferences, Statistics, Marketing), the share of choices that turned it on, with “Accept all” or in the settings. Marketing can be lower than Statistics: browsers that send a Global Privacy Control signal keep marketing off.

#By region and by banner version

  • By region: where visitors were when they answered. “Not recorded” covers older choices, made before the banner noted the region.
  • By banner version: shown once more than one version has been answered in the period. Compare versions after changing the wording or the settings.

#FAQ

#Can I raise my acceptance rate by changing the buttons?

“Reject all” and “Accept all” always look the same, as regulators expect. You can change the wording, which the version table helps you compare, but making refusal harder is not allowed.

#Why is the number of visitors lower than the number of choices?

A visitor who reopens the settings and changes their choice adds a row. The visitor count counts each random visitor ID once.

#Do the analytics use personal data?

No. They are computed from the consent log, which holds only a random visitor ID, the date, the banner version, the choices and the region.
